About Chiropractic

Defining Chiropractic:

Treating the Human Body's Musculoskeletal System as a Whole

There is a proven relationship between the spine and the rest of the human body. Your brain controls your body by generating signals, and your spine is the pathway that delivers those signals to their appropriate destinations. Chiropractic recognizes that when your spine is not functioning properly, everything else is consequently effected, and your body will ultimately suffer from health problems. Everything in the human body is essentially connected by the spine, and so chiropractic takes a natural, whole body approach to treatment.

Chiropractors do not use drugs or harsh or invasive treatments to help their patients. Chiropractic is based on the body's ability to be self-healing. Nutrition and supplementation are a part of the larger scope of health as well. All too commonly, drugs are prescribed which only treat symptoms. Chiropractic is different, since the root of the problem is addressed naturally by essentially helping the body to help itself.

A large misconception is that chiropractors only treat back and neck problems. This is actually only a tiny portion of what this area of medicine can provide treatment for. Health issues such as sciatica and joint pain, which are related to soft and hard tissue problems, are commonly addressed. Fibromyalgia, insomnia, headaches, and allergies are also treated through professional chiropractic care. The list goes on for how chiropractic can help the human body.
